•The mean prevalance of CVS declined after implementation of STX-VCS. •The mean daily dose of norepinephrine declined after implementation of stereotactic catheter ventriculostomy. •The reduction of induced hypertension was accompanied by a significant reduction of cardiovascular adverse events.
