Abstract

In this issue we are pleased to commence a new series of pull-out Supplements on various practical aspects of diabetes care. The topics to be covered will include a wide range of issues commonly experienced in day-to-day management of people with diabetes, and will be of practical relevance to those healthcare professionals directly involved in providing patients with practical guidance on their individual therapy. In this issue the Supplement focuses on the various insulins available and commonly used regimens. Future Supplements will include insulin delivery devices, blood glucose monitoring and other related topics. The Supplements are designed to be detached and retained for future reference. The concept of the series was organised and subsequently developed by Deirdre Kyne-Grzebalski, DNS, Diabetes Centre, Newcastle General Hospital, UK. Her considerable experience, enthusiasm and wisdom in the area of diabetic care are well known and highly regarded. We believe this will prove a very valuable educational resource for our readership. If you wish to receive further details on this supplement series please contact the Editorial Office.
