Abstract
Analyses of the trajectory of societies over the last few centuries have shown us the inadequacy between capital accumulation dynamics and ecological dynamics, with catastrophic effects on the biosphere. The risks caused by global climate change are high. The history of humanity has developed through the relationship between society and nature, according to logics of domination based on various production processes and knowledge. These logics were not always contradictory, as shown by the examples of people whose notions of culture and nature are integrated into their systems of knowledge. Experiences in the territories of several countries that make up the Amazon region referred to in this chapter, and which illustrate the analyzes we propose to make, contribute to understanding the tensions which exist in the society-nature relationship and the paradigm of coviability as a stake in order to re-establish the society-nature link.
