Abstract

This Special Section constitutes an expansion of the results of the NIMH Research Units on Pediatric Psychopharmacology (RUPP) efforts related to its multisite treatment study of fluvoxamine in children with anxiety disorders (Research Unit on Pediatric Psychopharmacology Anxiety Study Group, 2002). In the RUPP anxiety disorders study, 128 children with social phobia, separation anxiety disorder, or generalized anxiety disorder were randomly assigned to placebo or fluvoxamine treatment in an 8-week, double-blind, parallel trial.
