Abstract
Welcome to the Autumn Issue of the SIGWEB Newsletter, as your new Chair I'd like to extend my thanks to everyone who voted for me and supported my application and assure all members of the special interest group that I will be doing my very best for our community over my two-year term. I'd also like to thank our outgoing Chair, Ethan Munson, for doing such an excellent job over the past five years, and leaving to me a healthy and expanding community. In this article I'd like to expand more on my election pledges including ideas how these pages can be accomplished, give a brief summary of the health of our SIG, to discuss the state of our major conferences, and finally to make you aware of my academic background within the Web and Hypertext community.
