Abstract
The IEEE Open Journal of Antennas and Propagation is live! It is with great pleasure and sincere privilege, as the inaugural Editor-in-Chief, that I am writing this message to introduce the first volume of the IEEE Open Journal of Antennas and Propagation (OJAP), the first gold fully-open access journal of the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S).

The launch of IEEE OJAP marks a strategic expansion of the AP-S to the Open Access (OA) publishing model
IEEE OJAP combines the rigor of peer-review with the speed of OA publishing, targeting a submissionto-publication time equal to ten weeks
As an OA journal, OJAP faces the challenge of making important research available and discoverable for all by supporting authors in gaining maximum exposure for their articles once they reach the public domain
