Abstract
Both embryo selection as well as the freezing protocol used are central to successful embryo cryopreservation and the subsequent achievement of optimal FET pregnancy rates. We set out to evaluate the Blastocyst Competency Index (BCI), a system that scores each blastocyst based upon developmental criteria assessed on day 3, day 5 and day 6 post-ICSI and to compare outcome when a conventional freezing method vs. vitrification was used.
