Abstract

Examining corporate governance as a subject of integrity stimulates a shift of perspective that allows calling into question the premises that have so far dominated the corporate governance debate. Integrity can represent the well-functioning of the corporation, but also a virtuous form of human behaviour. The paper invites to a multidisciplinary dialogue that would enhance our understanding about how both aspects are interlinked. The paper puts forward that a clear distinction between the term corporation and the term firm, whereby corporation would be viewed as a legal instrument, could but benefit such a dialogue.
