Abstract

We present a case of CMV retinitis (CMVR) reactivation in a psoriasis patient on immunosuppressant therapy, which previously responded to intravitreal ganciclovir. However, upon reactivation, nonresponsiveness to the same drug was noticed and the patient was switched to intravitreal foscarnet treatment, resulting in complete resolution of retinitis and significant improvement in vision. This case emphasizes the efficacy of foscarnet as an alternative treatment for ganciclovir-resistant CMVR.
