Abstract

ELBW infants are at high risk of intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) and IVH may predispose to the development of cerebral palsy (CP) and/or neurodevelopment impairment (NDI). Historically infants with IVH, particularly Grade 3 or 4 IVH, were at greater risk for NDI. Recent data suggests that NDI may not be as prevalent as once thought in infants with IVH.
