Abstract
Background: The development of functional mitral regurgitation (MR) in dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) has been attributed to altered left ventricular (LV) geometry and annular dilatation. We propose the hypithesis that intraventricular dyssynchrony may play a role in the development of MR in DCM.
