Abstract

Thrombolytic therapy is the first choice for the treatment of acute ischemic stroke, while the recanalization rate of intravenous thrombolysis for large vessel occlusion stroke is low. As a representative of endovascular treatment, endovascular mechanical thrombectomy can effectively recanalize the occluded cerebral vessel and improve the outcome in patients with acute ischemic stroke. This article reviews the recent research progress and the future direction of intravenous thrombolysis bridging.
