Abstract

(JAMA. 2020;323:372–374) A prior study found no significant association between oral ondansetron exposure during the first trimester and cardiac malformations or overall congenital malformations, except for a small association with oral clefts. Subsequent research, however, has suggested that the intravenous administration of ondansetron may be associated with adverse neonatal events. The aim of this study was to examine the association between intravenous ondansetron and congenital malformations.
