Abstract

Percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography (PTC) with percutaneous transhepatic biliary drain (PTBD) placement is indicated for treatment of bile leaks; however, this procedure can be technically difficult in the setting of nondilated ducts, with success rates averaging 87% (1). Institutional review board approval was not required for this case report describing an unconventional method for cholangiography after failed PTC to facilitate 2-stick PTBD placement.
