Abstract

Suction curettage has historically been described as the safest and most effective procedure for miscarriages and abortions [ 1 Crockett LK Abortion. Clin Obstet Gynaecol. 1979; 6: 57-76 Google Scholar ]. A commonly cited complication of curettage is uterine perforation. In rare circumstances, consequences of uterine perforation may involve abdominopelvic organs and important pelvic vasculature [ 2 De Cicco A Mascilini F Ludovisi M De Cicco F Scambia G Testa AC. Complications of uterine perforation may ultimately play a role in the future fertility of these patients.
