Abstract

(Anaesthesia. 2016;71:298–305) When placing an epidural for labor analgesia, one goal is to minimize epidural catheter migration during labor and delivery. However, there is no consensus among obstetric anesthesiologists as to the best method to use for epidural catheter fixation. Techniques used vary from simple adhesive dressings to specifically designed fixation devices such as Epi-Fix, LockIt Plus, and Tegaderm. The primary objective of this current study was to determine which of the devices listed above would result in the least amount of epidural catheter migration.
