Abstract

Thrombosis & pseudoaneurysm formation are recognised vascular complications ofpancreatitis, occurring in 25% of acute pancreatitis cases.1 Though both were reportedindividually, their occurrence together in the same patient is rare. We report a rare case ofacute pancreatitis complicated by pseudocyst formation, portal vein thrombosis andpseudoaneurysm formation in the intrapancreatic vessels, with subsequent rupture of thepseudoaneurysm into the pseudocyst following heparin administration for portal veinthrombus.
