Abstract

The article analyzes the principles of intraoperative infusion therapy and the pathophysiology of water-electrolyte disorders in children. Patients in critical condition especially need infusion therapy. The rules for calculating the volume of infusion therapy during surgery are given and the liberal and restrictive strategies of infusion are reflected, the negative consequences of hypervolemia and infusion of hypoosmolar solutions are demonstrated based on the results of numerous studies. The historical and practical aspect of intraoperative infusion therapy to prevent dehydration and shock manifestations is highlighted.
