Abstract

The ovarian nurse cells of the water beetle Dytiscus exhibit microtubules not only within the cytoplasm but also within the nuclei, which are characterized by DNA endoreduplication. The intranuclear tubules usually occur in the form of bundles of 10–25; they have a maximum length of 1 μ and a diameter of 200–220 A each. No direct contact of the intranuclear tubules with the cytoplasmic tubules could be seen.
