Abstract

The need to move knowledge quickly throughout a company is necessary to maximize intellectual capital. As the need to capture, create, and disperse information and knowledge becomes more critical to firms, the question arises of how best to facilitate this process. By building and using intranets, firms of all sizes can leverage their collective knowledge in an effort to create sustainable competitive advantage. Through reviews of current literature and direct survey, the author examines trends in the use of intranets to communicate competitive intelligence. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
