Abstract

A primary cardiac tumor was clinically diagnosed in an asymptomatic 10-year-old Japanese boy who was noted to have an abnormal cardiac contour from infancy. It was histologically an intramural fibroma of the heart. The tumor was suspected on the basis of an abnormal EKG, chest film, and angiocardiography. Although this tumor is benign, it carries the possibility of sudden death due to a conduction disturbance. It is believed that this tumor can be diagnosed clinically.
