Abstract

The prostate carcinoma represents, after the pulmonary tumor he second most frequent cause of death from malignant tumors n the male population [1]. The most common prostate carcioma metastatic lesions occur in the bone, lung and liver. Spinal etastatic lesions occur in 10% of the cases and are mostly xtradural and only rarely intradural extramedullary [2]. Intradural xtramedullary metastatic lesions associated with primary tumors riginating outside the neuroaxis are uncommon, occurring in 5% of ll spinal metastasis [3]. The most common histology of the primary umor is adenocarcinoma originating from the lung and the breast. eported intradural spinal metastasis with histological confirmed xamination since 1950 add to 82 and only rarely are reported to be rostate carcinoma [3–6]. We describe a rare case of an intradural etastasis in a patient harboring prostate carcinoma.
