Abstract

Intracavity laser spectroscopy with photometric detection has been used to record weak overtone transitions of silane, dichlorosilane and trichlorosilane. For Δυ = 3 a KC1: TI 0(1) modified color center laser was used in the 1.48-1.545 μ range, while for Δυ = 7 a previously described dye laser was used. Two bands corresponding to Δυ = 3 of SiH 2Cl 2 were observed and analysed using a local model of two coupled anharmonic oscillators. The rotational analysis and the intensity of the band are given for SiH 4. For SiHCl 3 the pure local mode |o > was observed with no resolved rotational structure despite a resolution of 0.02 cm -1.
