Abstract

Objectives: Emerging evidence suggests that erythropoietin (EPO) protects the heart from ischemic injury and promotes beneficial remodelling. The role of EPO and its receptor (EPO-R) in cardiac regeneration remains unclear. We aimed to investigate cardio-protective effects and stem cell homing, proliferation and angiogenesis modulated by EPO.
