Abstract

SummaryWe investigated to what extent stilboestrol was used during pregnancy in Finland, in 1940-69. Data were derived from outpatient maternity records in two towns. We found no users of stilboestrol in the sample (n = 12 502), but other oestrogens had been used. The question that arises is whether other oestrogens have caused similar problems for pregnant women as did stilboestrol.
