Abstract

closer examination, the subcaudal tail whorls are arranged in uniform rings, which is diagnostic for C. acutus, and are not interrupted by intercalated scales or groups of scales (Brazaitis, 1973; Ross and Ross, 1974), as is the case in C. moreletii. Based on these data, the crocodilian in Lago de Yojoa and other known localities in Honduras is Crocodylus acutus. Crocodylus moreletii remains unreported from Honduras.
