Abstract

The history of a patient is reviewed who presented with acute intestinal obstruction. This was found to be due to the unusual finding of hypertrophic ileocecal tuberculosis occurring as a complication of pulmonary tuberculosis presumably due to human-type tubercle bacilli. The response to primary resection followed by specific antituberculosis medication was excellent.
