Abstract
Lavinel G. Ionescu is one of the best chemistry professors in the Federative Republic of Brazil. After participating in the organization and foundation of Faculties of Chemistry in Brazil and representing Brazil twice at IUPAC (International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry), he currently teaches classes at PUCRS, ULBRA and, when invited, at other universities throughout Brazil .
