Abstract Student and civil rights worker Gwendolyn Patton tells the story of her activist life in this excerpted interview with Richard D. Benson II conducted on June 23, 2014, in Montgomery, Alabama. Patton reflects on her early involvement with the Montgomery bus boycott, development as a student leader at Tuskegee Institute, and formation of the National Association of Black Students.
