Abstract

ABSTRACT Jennifer Waters is Director of the Nikon Imaging Center and Lecturer in Cell Biology at Harvard Medical School, USA. Jennifer started using microscopes during her undergraduate studies and continued developing her technical skills during her PhD at University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill. After completing her PhD, Jennifer was appointed to a faculty position teaching microscopy at Wake Forest before she moved to her current position at Harvard Medical School. We caught up with Jennifer to discuss her career, her passion for microscopy education, and the merger of Microlist and FocalPlane, the microscopy community site hosted by The Company of Biologists (https://focalplane.biologists.com/).
