Abstract

ABSTRACT Florence Niedergang is head of the Biology of Phagocytes, Infection and Immunity team and the director of Institut Cochin in Paris. Her research focuses on the mechanisms of internalisation used by phagocytes, as well as how viral infections impair the phagocytic and activation functions of macrophages. Florence is also President of the French Society for Cell Biology (la Société de Biologie Cellulaire de France; SBCF). We caught up with Florence to chat to her about her career path, her current research and her thoughts on scientific societies and academia.
