Abstract

Doctor Vasilii Ouatu (b. 1946) was born in the village of Hîjdieni in Glodeni, Moldova. He served in Afghanistan (1985-1988) as a consultant to the chief dentist and the chief maxillofacial surgeon of the Afghan Army, based at the Military Medical Academy of the Central Army and at the Military Hospital in Kabul. A professor of medical sciences, he served as the director of Moldova's Republican Experimental Center for Prosthesis, Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation from 2001 to 2011. He is now retired.
