Abstract

(Abstracted from Prev Med 2021;143:106387) Despite significant improvement through the past decade in implementation and adoption of cervical cancer screening and prevention worldwide, in 2018, the global age standardized incidence and mortality rates were 13.1 and 6.9 per 100,000 women, respectively. Current screening guidelines suggest a papillomavirus test (Papanicolaou test) every 3 years for women aged 21 through 65 years.
