Abstract

Test anxiety is rampant among nursing students. There are many studies that describe this phenomenon and its effects on academic performance. However, there is very little written about how the teacher can intervene. Nurse educators are in a unique position to help students overcome their anxiety and realize their true aptitude. We have worked with test-anxious students for over 30 years and wanted to share some empirically tested strategies that can be easily implemented.
