Abstract

Interventional oncology has joined surgical, radiation, and medical oncology as the fourth pillar of cancer care. Advances in imaging and image guidance for the detection, characterization, targeting, and therapy of cancer now allow for minimally invasive image-guided treatment of many solid tumors without the morbidity of open surgery or the toxicity of chemotherapy and radiation.
