Abstract

*Keynote presentation at the annual meeting of the Network for Research in Jewish Education, New York, June 2000. This article deals with the following issues related to the problem posed here: • development of a conceptual framework for research in Jewish education • consideration of the various functions of research in Jewish education • provision of examples of intervention and research programs in Israel and the Diaspora • identification of some missing research questions and modes of doing research • asking where we could go from here
