Abstract

Objective To explore the intervention effect of emotional nursing combined with Ningxinanshen Chinese medicine on postpartum depression. Methods Total 46 maternal women with postpartum depression, based on Edinburgh postpartum depression scale (EPDS), in our hospital from January 2014 to March 2017 were enrolled and divided into control group and treatment group according to random number table method, 23 cases in each group. Control group was given routine nursing, and treatment group was given emotional nursing combined with Ningxinanshen Chinese medicine on the basis of routine nursing. EPDS and the MOS 36-Item Short From Health Survey were applied to evaluate the data before and 2 months after intervention. Results After intervention, the EPDS score in treatment group was (10.03±1.90) points, which was significantly lower than (11.74±1.32) points in control group (P<0.01). The scores of role physical (RP), role emotional (RE), physiological function (PF), vitality (VT), mental health (MH), body pain (BP), social function (SF), general health (GH) in treatment group were significantly higher than those in control group (P<0.01). Conclusion Emotional nursing combined with Ningxinanshen Chinese medicine has obvious intervention effect on postpartum depression and it is worthy of clinical application.
