Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of elderly exercise on blood pressure in elderly hypertensives at the Tresna Werdha Social Institution, Bengkulu City. This study used Quasy Experiment with one Group pre-and post-test design. The results showed that there was a decrease in systolic and diastolic blood pressure before and after being given gymnastics for older people with an average systolic of 143.00 mmHg to 132.73 mmHg, while diastolic 85.20 mmHg to 77.60 mmHg. The independent t-test statistical test results obtained a p-value of 0.058 systolic and 0.069 diastolic. In conclusion, there is an effect of elderly exercise intervention on reducing blood pressure in hypertensive elderly.
