Abstract

Brushless direct current (BLDC) motors are widely used in many industries in recent years, therefore, fault diagnosis of these motors is receiving more attention. So, it is necessary to apply fault diagnosis techniques to the motor and its drive and find appropriate index for fault detection. This paper reviews the interturn fault diagnosis methods in BLDC motors and their drawbacks and advantages are studied and compared. Finally, suitable techniques from applicability and cost point of views are recommended.
