Abstract

Relaxation and polarization of 1H and 19F nuclei on (CF 3) 3COH in the presence of 4-oxo-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidinooxy free radical have been studied. Although 19F polarization indicates both scalar and dipolar coupling of nuclear and unpaired electron spins, relaxation measurements show that the -OH proton interaction is dominated by a stronger coupling arising from only a dipolar contribution.
