Abstract

When some of the current mathematics programs and proposed art programs for the kindergarten are compared, many components common to both subjects are found. An understanding of the interrelationships which exist between the two makes it possible for the kindergarten teacher to capitalize on them and to reinforce and extend children's learning in both areas. Both can contribute to the conceptual development and the enhancement of visual perception of children so that they can learn to live comfortably in a world of technology and a world of art.
