Abstract

Analytical descriptions are given for the charges passed through the electrode (at Eads= const) and the open-circuit potentials during the formation of a monolayer of strongly adsorbed neutral particles on the surface. The interpretation of the transients is based on the concept of a total electrode charge. It is shown that, by using additional assumptions, it is possible to derive equations which describe theI vs. τ Eads= const) andE vs. τ (an open circuit) dependences
