Abstract

The author gives an account of the major factors which influence practical hot-wire anemometry in subsonic airflows. The relevant probe and anemometer corrections are considered and it is demonstrated that it is not possible to derive a single unique calibration relationship for the wire voltage which is applicable to all probe and anemometer types.
