Survival in liver transplant (LT) recipients is lower than matched controls,1Click or tap here to enter text. and cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the key contributor to this increased mortality.2 Given the central role of liver in lipoprotein metabolism, perturbation in normal physiological functions that occur with chronic liver disease (CLD), is associated with production of atherogenic lipoproteins such as small dense low-density lipoproteins (LDLs) (sdLDLs), which is associated with increased risk of atherosclerotic events in LT recipients and CLD.
