Abstract

Abstract The loss-gain hypothesis was tested in relation to interpersonal attraction, using a sample of Indian university students and a 4 × 2 (Sequence of Evaluative Comments x Sex of Participant) factorial design. The loss-gain liking sequence was associated more closely than the gain-loss liking sequence was to interpersonal attraction.
