Abstract
Supply Chain Management (SCM) can be considered as a "value collaboration", which unites the SC Partners (supplier, producer, subcontractor and distributor) under one structure. Together with the Internet und ERP systems becoming widespread, SCM benefits more from data processing and communication technologies, especially in the processes of order-taking, purchasing and stock management. SCM creates integration between its Partners and serves as an effective tool for decrease in costs, producing common benefits, synergy creation by specialization, establishment of effective systems and long range planning. This article provides the reader with a definition of SCM, Internet based SCM systems and an application from BAYMAK-one of the leading durable goods producer in Turkey.
