The internet appeared in Romania 17 years ago, and since then only hardly more, than one third of the Romanian population turned into an internet user. The aim of my study is to summarize the circumstances of the Romanian spreading of the internet and the peculiarities of the digital inequalities based on Romanian scientific publications, statistical data and survey results.
