Internationalization of Academics: A Key for Aeronautics and Aerospace Development

Abstract

The worldwide development of novel technologies requires international connections and links, especially at the initial level, i.e., universities which train the engineers. The objective of the present paper is to describe this process. Moreover, the objectives of international exchanges are more especially highlighted. The harmonization of the various curricula throughout the European Union is conducted in agreement with the Bologna standards regarding the curricula. At this stage, the role of a European network, namely PEGASUS is addressed. The exchange programs that allow students to acquire an additional knowledge at the visiting university are also emphasized. This system of double degree throughout EU universities is the core of these exchanges. The ERASMUS programs are also part of this fruitful series of exchanges. The importance of International conferences, specially made for the students at the Master level, is shown. It makes the ground of a valuable interaction between research and academics.
