Abstract
INTERNATIONALIZATION, DISCOURSE ON IDENTITY AND THE PREVAILING DISCOURSE IN TODAY'S JAPAN. This article analyses three reference books written for the general public and which are considered, because of their wide readership, as typical of the average representations in the prevailing discourse. This study underlines the strong influence of internationalism. The conclusion tries to mesure its impact on a wide public of ordinary people's representations and values, characterized by one of the lowest levels of nationalism and cosmopolitism in the world.
