Abstract

The Inter-Congress Symposium of Commission V of the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS) will be held at the University of York, Heslington, York, England from 5th to 10th September, 1982.The proposed theme is precision and speed in close range photogrammetry and offers of papers are now invited. The theme has been chosen to reflect the current concern with the convenience and appropriateness of close range photogrammetry as a contactless form of measurement in an increasing variety of disciplines, as well as with the improvement in the acquisition of data.Papers will be grouped in sessions, including the fundamental topics Accuracy, precision and reliability Interactive data reduction Design of object space control Analytical stereometrologyand examples of practical applications of photogrammetry in Architecture Biostereometrics Low altitude aerial photography Engineering and industry Underwater inspection and survey Quantitative close range sensing, holography and moiré techniquesAn exhibition will be mounted in connexion with the Symposium. Offers of papers, enquiries about exhibition space and requests for further general information should be addressed to K B Atkinson, Secretary, ISPRS Commission V, Department of Photogrammetry and Surveying, University College London, Gower Street, London WC1E 6BT, England.
